The Opportunity

We're looking for a Junior .NET Developer, working in the Media & Entertainment industry in Woodlands, Texas, United States.

  • Design, code, test, debug, document, and support application consistent with established specifications, business requirements, and department standards
  • Develop web and Windows applications from inception and modify existing applications following the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Work with both front and back end technologies
  • Work with both on premises and cloud technologies
  • Utilize common development tools (IDE and source control)
  • Design, implement, and maintain databases, including tables and stored procedures
  • Launch applications to multiple environments, including production
  • Participate in selecting the technical architecture of assigned projects with feedback from senior team members
  • Anticipate problems and roadblocks before they occur
  • Ensure status of projects are up-to-date at all times
  • Create and update project requirements and documentation including requirements, workflow, and business cases
  • Create time estimates based on requirements and supporting documentation
  • Generate launch procedures and change control documentation
  • Assist in generating user training and documentation for applications
  • Adhere to departmental production support policy by providing active support to production systems
  • Respond to end-user questions and issues
  • Create queries and performs analysis based on needs from end users
  • Analyze existing workflows and suggest potential improvements
  • Collaborate with team members and project stakeholders on applications
  • Present and demo applications to end-users, stakeholders, and the management team
  • Work with internal and external peers and managers to exchange technical information
  • Work on multiple projects adhering to priorities
  • Suggest ideas for new applications or improvements to existing applications
  • Participate in meetings when necessary
  • Help develop specification, program, and documentation standards
  • Act as a key contributor on projects
  • Drive a project from a technical perspective and independently resolves issues
  • Stay up-to-date on development tools, programming techniques, and technologies

The pay range we are offering is 30 to 35 per hour. This position may present an opportunity to go permanent.

Experience Required for Your Success
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • 2-3+ years of  experience in programming and analysis or a related function
  • Previous experience with the .NET Framework, web development, and relational databases
  • Experience with group projects and direct contact with end users
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required in working effectively with a wide range of employees, vendors and clients, orally as well as in writing
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
  • Ability to work effectively with users in analyzing, testing and documenting applications and composing user guides, context sensitive help, and testing methodologies
  • Good math and reasoning skill
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to analyze and explain in non-technical terms programming logic and construction
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Team Foundation Serve or Visual Studio Team Service, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio), and Microsoft SharePoint, preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of .NET framework and .NET core (C#, ASP.NET, MVC), preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of web browsers and technology (HTML, CSS, JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks, JSON, cross browser testing), preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of service oriented structure (SOA), preferred
