The Opportunity

We're looking for an Extrusion Operator, working in the Oil & Gas industry in Sugar Land, Texas, United States.

  • Sets up, operates, and monitors extrusion machines for high-temperature polymers on downhole cables in the oil and gas industry. 
  • Selects and measures compression and tubing extrusion tips/dies.
  • Assembles and disassembles compression and tubing extrusion heads.
  • Cleans the extruder barrel and screw.
  • Sets control to regulates vacuum, air pressure, temperature, and tension.
  • Sets up and operates extrusion machines under normal supervision.
  • Locates defects on extruded conductors/cables.
  • Checks for conformance to specifications.
  • Records necessary data and as well as performs computer input and retrieval completely and accurately.

The pay range we are offering is 17 to 19 per hour. This position may present an opportunity to go permanent.

Experience Required for Your Success
  • HS Diploma or GED is required.
  • 3+ yrs of related experience in extrusion is required.
  • Basic computer skills is required.
  • Basic mechanical skills is required.
  • Familiarity with the use of measurement devices (laser mic, hand mic, dial mic, wrap around tape, scale, optical comparator) is required.
