The Opportunity

We're looking for a Patient Access Specialist, working in the Healthcare Systems & Services industry in Schaumburg, Illinois, United States.

  • Enters patient demographic and insurance information in system.
  • Provides information and assistance to patients to ensure they understand the financial assistance policy and application process.
  • Ensures that financial protocols and requirements are met while providing access to service at health system facilities by reviewing account documentation.
  • Performs cash collection functions (co-pay), admission, and discharge and transfer functions.
  • Maintains and applies current knowledge of insurance requirements when verifying eligibility and confirms authorization is secured prior to forwarding patients to service delivery areas.
  • Escalates unsecured financial accounts to management.

Experience Required for Your Success
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Experience in a clerical position preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance plans preferred
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry systems
  • Ability to multitask and maintain strong attention to detail
  • Compassionate and patient
  • Professional demeanor
