We're looking for a Staff Accountant, working in the Healthcare Systems & Services industry in Newton, Massachusetts, United States.
Executing various month-end close processes for their communities including the analysis of financial results, as well as execution along with their Accounting Team of the consolidated SME area close processes.
Preparing standard monthly journal entries.
Processing all journal entries, and maintaining monthly reconciliations and related workpapers.
Preparing and analyzing community level income statements, including coordination and continuous communication with community leadership on status of the close, results of financial analysis and other accounting and financial support.
Preparing community level balance sheet reconciliations, including cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets and accrued liabilities; and working with Accounting Team on SME areas for the monthly close and reporting of consolidated balance sheet and income statement level accounts.
Ensuring financial records are maintained in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles as it relates to their portfolio and Accounting Team SME areas.
Assisting Accounting Manager and Internal Audit with compliance related matters including year-end audit support and compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX).
Participating in/coordinating trainings regarding day-to-day accounting related matters and other technical matters.
Assisting Accounting Manager with proposing and executing process improvements to increase effectiveness and efficiency.
Performing budget and forecast preparation and analysis.
Assisting tax department on certain tax provision and compliance matters.
The pay range we're offering is 55,000 to 65,000 per year.

Experience Required for Your Success
Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance
2-4 years of relevant experience in accounting operations and/or audit
Public accounting experience preferred but not required
CPA candidate preferred
Experience in mid-size to large SEC registrants and/or privately-held businesses preferred but not required
Experience with PeopleSoft preferred but not required
