The Opportunity

We're looking for a Construction Inspector/Observer, working in the Electric Power & Natural Gas industry in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States.

  • Verifies all work performed by the prime construction contractor complies with our construction standards and the engineering prints.
  • Captures any field changes to the design.
  • Communicates properly to the responsible parties within the company on a routine or daily basis.
  • Ensures the constructor performs the work for the company.
  • Ensures the constructor uses the proper materials on the project.
  • Takes all precautions to protect company's equipment, materials and customers and be a good representative for company. 
  • Ensures all construction activities are performed in accordance with company safety policies.
  • Reviews prime contractor work plans and determining the appropriate level of safety observation.
  • Exercises stop work responsibility when work is being performed unsafely.
  • Acts as a watcher (see the Manual of Safe Practices) when the prime contractor is working within 20 feet of parts energized to 650 volts or higher.

Experience Required for Your Success
  • HS diploma or GED is required.
  • Wind farm construction experience in the areas of underground cable collection, underground cable terminations and substation control house wiring is required.
  • Detailed knowledge of T-line or substation construction practices is required.

The pay range we're offering is 45 - 53 per hour. This position may present an opportunity to go permanent.
