We're looking for a Safety Engineer, working in the Engineering/Manufacturing industry in Hillsborough, New Jersey, United States.
Conducts comprehensive on-site hazard and risk assessments; safety audits; accident investigations; and equipment inspections to mitigate risk.
Partners with the project managers and site safety representatives to interpret, evaluate, and provide technical guidance on project safety requirements, accident investigation, and implementing corrective action measures.
Develops and conducts onsite worker training on safety laws and regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and use of safety equipment at job site locations.
Monitors compliance with OSHA, USC 46, EPA, and DOT regulations in accordance with statutory and contractual requirements.
Administers and manages the substance abuse testing and occupational health programs for the organization.
Compiles, analyzes, and reports statistical data related to occupational illnesses and accidents as required.
Assists with detailed incident investigations and root cause analysis, compliance reviews, general risk assessments and other employee health and wellness evaluations, to support health, safety and environmental management initiatives.
Provides technical assistance writing.
Initiates and monitors corrective action.
The pay range we are offering is 80,000 to 110,000 per year.

Experience Required for Your Success
Bachelor's degree in Safety, Construction Management or Engineering preferred
10 years of site safety experience in dredging, marine, civil contracting construction industry experience required
30-hour OSHA General Industry Safety course
Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
Proficient computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office Suite required
Excellent command of the English language (read, speak, and write)
Ability to manage and self-motivate
Ability to work independently as well as in a team
