We're looking for a QA Specialist, working in the Manufacturing industry in Hayward, California, United States.
Assist in R&D, testing, recipes, product formulations, costing and shelf life study of products.
Test and maintain raw materials, finished goods and process parameters against standards/specifications.
Perform QA Monitoring test: pH, metal detector test, temperature checks on coolers and chips equipment (oven and fryer), weight monitoring, free fatty acid test, moisture content and lot code/ expiration date checks at least every 2 hours.
Assist in managing QA documents – collecting documents from production.
Calibrate and maintain lab equipment (pH meter, temperature guns and scales) at least once a week.
Perform monthly environmental swab and other laboratory tests as directed.
Investigate customer complaint.
Help in preparation of food safety audits and other type of inspections.
Ensure Food Safety training with new employees and manage employee training program.
Assist in performing sensory evaluation for current, new, and competitor’s products.
Write up and investigate Advice Notices.
Assist with Pest Control Program.
Manage weekly monitoring report for glass and hard plastic.
Assist in applying necessary permit for satellite warehouses and manufacturing facility.
Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
The pay range we are offering is 25 to 30 per hour. This position may present an opportunity to go permanent.

Experience Required for Your Success
College degree in Chemistry, Biology or related Science
Oral and written communication skills
Ability to speak Spanish is preferred
Ability to interact effectively with other production staff and various departments
Intermediate computer skills including MS Word and Excel
Dependable and a team player
Attention to detail
Flexible with work schedule and work weekend and extra hours as needed
