The Opportunity

We're looking for an Assembly Technician, working in the Aerospace & Defense industry in Greenbelt, Maryland, United States.

  • Perform detailed assembly of miniaturized mechanical parts for laboratory and spaceflight mass spectrometers, as well as other instruments, assembly performed under cleanroom conditions.
  • Work independently without supervision.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Support Units and the Company. 
  • Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

The pay range we are offering is 30 to 34 per hour. This position may present an opportunity to go permanent.

Experience Required for Your Success
  • High school diploma or equivalent with 10 years or more related experience, or a related 2-year technical degree with 8 years or more related experience
  • Exceptional organization skills and practices, such as parts tracking and adherence to quality control procedures, are needed
  • Ability to assemble small and complex parts is desired
  • Background as a mechanical engineering technician with experience in machining and using spot-welder, microscopes, inspection systems, and assembly tools is required
  • Knowledge of vacuum technology, chemical cleaning procedures, and small machining equipment is preferred
  • Basic understanding of physics and electrical principles is preferred
