The Opportunity

We're looking for a Senior Property Accountant, working in the Real Estate industry in Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States.

  • Managing the daily activity and monthly close of operating properties from start to finish.
  • Processing payment of all invoices and related cash management.
  • Creating and posting of adjusting journal entries.
  • Reconciling related bank accounts.
  • Maintaining key accounting schedules. 
  • Ensuring debt-related entries are accurately booked.
  • Preparing and reviewing of balance sheet and P&L activity with supporting schedules.
  • Delivering financial information to communicate with external stakeholders to answer queries.
  • Preparing monthly financial reporting packages for owners of managed portfolios.
  • Maintaining and managing key data feeds and imports of transactions across entities.
  • Reporting expense, billing and collections, employee & contractor hours.
  • Driving payables and receivables between management and property entities.
  • Managing and reviewing the revenue reconciliation process across all entities.
  • Managing bookkeeping team in posting and reconciling various accounts.
  • Preparing year-end financial statement and tax preparation in tandem with Controller and CFO.
  • Assisting with development and implementation of efficiencies to processes and improving process flow and accuracy.

The pay we are offering is 85,000 per year.

Experience Required for Your Success
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting
  • 4+ years experience in a senior accounting role
  • 2+ years of residential property management accounting experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office or G Suite
  • Experience working with Buildium and Sage 300 preferred
  • Exemplary planning, multi-tasking, and time-management skills
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP
  • Process-oriented with an acute attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Quick learner with a proactive approach to problem solving
  • Ability to think critically and be resourceful when needed
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams
