The Opportunity

Description

We're looking for Patient Access Specialist, working in Healthcare Systems and Services industry in Chicago, Illinois, United States.

  • Enters patient demographic and insurance information in the system.
  • Provides information and assistance to patients to ensure that they understand the Financial Assistance Policy and application process.
  • Ensures financial protocols and requirements are met while providing access to service at health system facilities by reviewing account documentation.
  • Performs cash collection functions, admission, discharge, and transfer functions.
  • Maintains and applies current knowledge of insurance requirements when verifying eligibility and confirms authorization is secured prior to forwarding patients to service delivery areas.
  • Escalates unsecured financial accounts to management.

Experience Required for Your Success

  • High school diploma or GED is required
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance plans preferred
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry systems
  • Ability to multitask and maintain strong attention to detail
  • Compassionate and patient
  • Professional demeanor
