The Opportunity
Description
We're looking for
Pharmacy Technician, working in
Healthcare Systems and Services industry in
234 E 149th Street, Lincoln Hospital, New York, New York, United States.
- Counts dosage units of drugs and places unit doses in appropriate containers for dispensing.
- Prepares non patient specific batches of IV solutions in accordance with established protocols.
- Receives written and electronic prescriptions, types of prescription labels and affixes labels on containers for pharmacist check.
- Prepares manual dispensing records for approval by pharmacist. Maintains & retrieves pharmacy records using automated and/or manual systems.
- Obtains drugs from stock and return to stock.
- Delivers medications to nursing units/clinic/ED/OR/etc.
- Performs unit dose medication cart exchanges.
- Performs pharmacy related clerical tasks.
- Assists pharmacist in filling medication orders and prepares emergency code trays.
- Fills non-controlled medications in automatic dispensing cabinets (i.e., PYXIS).
- Checks for expired medications.
- Fills Department of Health (DOH) prescription paper.
