The Opportunity

Description

  • Maintains the general ledger and tracks project costs for development properties.
  • Maintains the general ledger for the joint ventures.
  • Participates in acquisition and disposition process on development properties, including settlement statement review and approval.
  • Coordinates preparation and approval of equity/lender draw request for development properties.
  • Prepares and reviews invoices related to contracts including AIA billing and % complete.
  • Processes all checks/wires for development properties and joint ventures.
  • Is responsible for month end close process for all development properties and joint ventures in Yardi.
  • Calculates and processes development and asset management fees; reconciles and settles all intercompany accounts.
  • Prepares monthly financial statement packages for joint ventures.
  • Assists in preparation of annual budget and monitors budget to actual on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Works directly with outsourced relationships including but not limited to bankers, auditors, tax accountants, and lenders.

Experience Required for Your Success

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • 3 years real estate accounting experience; development/construction accounting experience a plus
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite
  • Working knowledge of Yardi accounting or another property management software a plus
  • Solid organizational and communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Ability to work with all levels of management and staff, and between departments in a professional manner
