We're looking for an Assembly Technician, working in Engineering/Manufacturing industry in St. Cloud, Minnesota, United States.

Looking for a new manufacturing role at an excellent company? Join the New Flyer Team in St. Cloud, MN! Doherty Staffing Solutions is partnering with New Flyer, North America’s heavy-duty transit bus leader, for opportunities in their St. Cloud, MN facility.

We are seeking candidates for Assembly Technician roles on 2nd shift. 2nd shift hours are 4:00pm-12:30am, Monday-Friday. Overtime opportunities may be available both before or after the scheduled shift or on Saturday. Compensation for these direct hire roles is $18.25per hour + shift premium! Training takes place on day shift for the first week of employment.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs all installations and/or assemblies within a specified work area on the production line.
  • Prepares work to be accomplished by reviewing assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools and materials.
  • Ensures quality and consistency in installations and/or assemblies within a specified work area.
  • Ensures workstation is kept clean and in safe working condition.
  • Performs the assigned duties and works overtime which is often required to meet production schedules.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Experience Required for Your Success

Requirements:

  • Ability to use small hand and power tools repetitively, as well as measuring equipment and tools.
  • Ability to read and follow intermediate measurements and instructions with a strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be a team player, a self-starter and be able to work in a team setting.
  • Good communication skills, ability to work with little supervision, with excellent time management skills.
  • Must have working knowledge of hand and air tools. Employee is regularly exposed to vibration, and occasionally works near moving mechanical parts.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, and reach. Must be able to climb up and down, as well as work using a ladder. Employee will go extended periods of time standing and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Must be able to work from blueprints, process sheets, and/or written instructions, then build to those specifications while utilizing measurement tools and basic math skills.
