Description

Are you someone who takes pride in contributing to having a clean and safe environment to work in? If so, then we have the perfect opportunity for you! We are seeking Groundskeeper who will perform custodial and maintenance duties on the Wingate residential property located at Pawtucket, RI.

Position Summary:

  • The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining all outdoor and common areas in a safe, attractive condition. The Groundskeeper is a member of the Maintenance staff working directly with the Maintenance Supervisor and the Office staff to provide excellent services to our residents.   
  • Main Job Responsibilities:


    Responsible for the overall upkeep of the property landscape and the exterior (and interior) appearance which may include but is not limited to: 

    • Cleaning of driveways, parking lots, curbs, dumpster areas, exterior hallways, and any other public areas 
    • Maintenance of grass, trees, shrubs, plantings and flowers. Includes removal of weeds from shrubbery beds and dead plant material. 
    • Physically walking the property on a frequent basis to remove litter, debris, and pet droppings from the grounds. 
    • It is especially critical that the following areas always remain neat and free of litter: pool areas, laundry rooms, mail rooms, dumpster areas, recreation areas, grounds adjacent to the road, in front of office, walkways to and from and in-between buildings. 
    • Pool cleaning or routine pool maintenance (if applicable) 
    • Follow and adhere to all Wingate Companies’ policies, practices and procedures  Regularly assess the property for safety and loss prevention  
    • Safely operate power equipment and hand-held tools such as snow blowers, leaf blowers or power drills 
    • Posts notices as required or instructed by supervisor 
    • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned

                                  Experience Required for Your Success

                                  Essential Skills and Abilities:

                                  • Must be willing to work off-hours/weekends (on-call) in the case of an emergency or inclement weather 
                                  • Understand basic spoken English in order to follow instructions and take direction from supervisors 
                                  • Previous groundskeeping experience helpful and desirable, but not required  
                                  • Ability to work independently and willingness to learn 

                                  Required Education and Experience:

                                  • No formal training required, just a willingness to work and learn
