The Opportunity

Description

  • Process release of information requests efficiently, ensuring compliance with company policies and HIPAA guidelines (25%).
  • Reproduce requested information according to Service Level Agreement (SLA) and legal requirements (e.g., subpoena), using methods like fax, scan, or photocopy (25%).
  • Identify request status (walk-in, fax, pre-payment) and enter data into tracking system (15%).
  • Verify accuracy and quality of reproduced work and data entry before providing to requestor, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws (15%).
  • Generate cover letters, pre-payment notices, invoices, and mail information; process payments upon receipt (10%).
  • Use various computer systems to maintain procedural consistency (5%).
  • Perform other assigned duties (5%).

Experience Required for Your Success

  • High School Diploma or GED required; associate’s degree preferred. R.H.I.T. desired.
  • 1-3 years of customer service, records management, or healthcare experience required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information; knowledge of HIPAA preferred.
  • Proficient with computer programs and data entry.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and multitasking skills.
  • Solid oral and written communication skills.
  • Can work from 07:30 AM - 04:00: PM.
