Position Summary:

The Relocation Coordinator provides excellent customer service to clients, residents, prospective residents, guests, and vendors. Relocation Coordinators are responsible for being the main point of contact for residents before, during, and following significant interior renovations of the buildings. The Relocation Coordinator will be assisting residents throughout the renovations process. The Relocation Coordinator will work directly with Property Managers, construction liaisons, contractors, and the property team members to ensure the highest quality experience possible for our residents.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide resources to residents and an open and welcoming environment for residents, customers, vendors and neighbors 
  • Assess needs of residents and provide them with the appropriate provider and community resources 
  • Prepare and maintain a log of resident renovation status 
  • Work closely with client representatives and construction team to coordinate resident activities and movements during any renovations or construction  
  • Help residents understand the renovation process 
  • Assist residents preparing for changes to their homes and address questions or concerns presented by residents during the renovation and transition process 
  • Generate and deliver all relocation notices 
  • Coordinate moves with movers and oversee the moving process 
  • Help residents connect to their families, friends and social networks for support, including during periods when residents are displaced from their units as a result of renovations 
  • Find and help deliver culturally appropriate & age appropriate enrichment activities for residents who may be displaced from their units during the day 
  • Maintain positive relationships with residents to ensure that communication between residents and community representatives is open and effective 
  • Achieve high productivity through reliable and punctual on-site attendance and timely reports any tardiness and/or attendance issues to immediate supervisor 
  • Perform other duties as required

Essential Skills and Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organization, writing and computer skills 
  • Ability to effectively interact and work with individuals from diverse backgrounds 
  • Attention to detail Ability to multi-task and work effectively in both a team and individual setting 
  • Flexibility and ability to manage a complex workload in varied work environments 
  • Willingness and ability to work some evenings and weekends 
  • Experience with spreadsheet software 
  • Knowledge of community-based services 
  • Understand the characteristics of the resident population and property in which they serve
  •  Understand issues that may impact the differential use of services are socio-economic, age, culture, gender, race, sexual orientation, and others 
  • Develop positive relationships with residents and vendors 
  • Act respectfully, patiently, positively and with consent 
  • Uphold values of service, transparency, performance, creativity, and community 


Required Education and Experience:


  • High School diploma (or equivalent) required; bachelor’s degree in social work, gerontology or other social science preferred 
  • Experience with networking and relating well with senior citizens and underserved populations in an appropriate environment, preferably arranging services for the elderly, underserved 
  • Understand and have experience with independent living philosophy 
  • Knowledge of the ADA 
  • Experience advocating and facilitating services for persons with disabilities and seniors
