The Opportunity
Description
We're looking for a Custodian, working in Real Estate industry in 101 South 18th Street, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, 17104, United States.Are you someone who takes pride in contributing to having a clean and safe environment to work in? If so, then we have the perfect opportunity for you! We are seeking a Custodian who will perform custodial and maintenance duties on the Wingate residential property located at Harrisburg, PA.
Position Summary:
The Custodian is responsible for keeping exteriors, common areas, vacant units, sidewalks and alleyways of property in a clean and safe condition and will assist in other types of basic maintenance, when necessary. Expected to perform all custodial and maintenance duties in a professional manner and on a timely basis.
Main Job Responsibilities:
- Cleans all hallways, stairwells, common areas, model, vacant apartments, parking areas, sidewalks and alleyways, on-site management offices, mailbox areas, elevators and laundry rooms
- Maintains grounds (Lawn care, snow removal, litter clean-up)
- Assists with miscellaneous social program activities (e.g., set-up, pick-ups, clean-ups, etc.)
- Maintains appliances and plumbing
- Assists in inventory control of all janitorial equipment and supplies
- Assists with painting, as directed
- Replaces burnt-out bulbs
- Checks locks while working in specific areas
- Reports maintenance problem areas ASAP
- Additional tasks as assigned by Supervisor

Experience Required for Your Success
Essential Skills and Abilities:
- Plumbing aptitude
- Mechanical aptitude
- Good safety habits
- Is familiar with power, water and gas turnoffs, clean out traps, fire extinguishers, fire systems
- Knows emergency numbers (e.g., police, fire department, manager, maintenance supervisor)
- Is able to be on-call for emergency duty
- Ability to work independently and willingness to learn
- Must have good communication abilities
Required Education and Experience:
- High school education or equivalent
- Full-time janitorial experience
