The Opportunity

Description

We're looking for an Inpatient Facility Coder (Remote), working in Healthcare Systems and Services industry in Alpharetta, Georgia, United States.

  • Review clinical documentation to assign and sequence diagnostic and procedural codes for Facility Inpatient records to meet the needs of hospital data retrieval for billing and reimbursement.
  • Validate MS-DRG calculations to accurately capture the diagnoses and procedures documented in the clinical record.
  • Perform documentation review and assessment for accurate abstracting of clinical data to meet regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Interact with client staff and providers.
  • Code complex inpatient records for a large teaching level health system.

Experience Required for Your Success

  • 2 years of recent and relevant hands-on coding experience. Requires active CCS, CCA, CCS-P, COC, CPC, CPC-A, RHIT or RHIA credential
  • Proficiency in coding systems such as ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS
  • Ability to accurately review and code complex medical records
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, and procedures
  • Knowledge of billing practices and reimbursement processes for professional fees
  • Awareness of regulatory requirements and compliance with coding guidelines and standards
  • Proficiency with coding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Ability to analyze and interpret medical documentation to ensure correct coding
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with healthcare providers and other stakeholders
  • Ability to resolve coding discrepancies and issues efficiently
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and coding projects
