Description

We're looking for a Profee Coder (Remote), working in Healthcare Systems and Services industry in Alpharetta, Georgia, United States.

  • Profee Coder (Professional Fee Coder): Specializes in coding services related to professional fees for physicians and other healthcare providers.
  • Specialties: Anesthesia, Cardiology, SDS/OBS (have to have experience with at least 1 of these)
  • Primary Focus: Translates healthcare providers' services into standardized codes for billing and reimbursement
  • Commonly Codes: Visits office, performs surgical procedures, and other professional services rendered by doctors
  • Distinct from Facility Coding: Focuses on provider services, not on hospital or facility charges like room fees or equipment use.
  • Purpose: Ensures accurate compensation for healthcare providers for the professional services they deliver.

Experience Required for Your Success

  • Medical Coding Knowledge: Proficiency in coding systems such as ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to accurately review and code complex medical records.
  • Understanding of Medical Terminology: Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, and procedures.
  • Billing and Reimbursement: Knowledge of billing practices and reimbursement processes for professional fees.
  • Compliance: Awareness of regulatory requirements and compliance with coding guidelines and standards
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with coding software and electronic health record (EHR) system
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze and interpret medical documentation to ensure correct coding.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills for interacting with healthcare providers and other stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve coding discrepancies and issues efficiently.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and coding projects.
