Description

We're looking for a NDT Technician II, working in Light Industrial industry in GAC Tulsa 6911 North Whirlpool Drive, Tulsa, OK, Tulsa, Oklahoma, 74117, United States.

The primary job responsibility of an NDT Technician (Aircraft Structures) in this case is to ensure the structural integrity of aircraft parts, assemblies, and installations through Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods. This translates to several key tasks:


  • Conducting NDT Inspections: The technician uses various NDT techniques (e.g., ultrasonic testing, eddy current testing) to identify cracks, corrosion, or other defects in aircraft components without damaging them.
  • Evaluating Test Results: They analyze the data collected from the NDT inspections to determine if the parts meet the required specifications and airworthiness standards.
  • Documentation and Reporting: They meticulously document the inspection process, findings, and conclusions in designated reports.
  • Equipment Maintenance and Calibration: The technician maintains and calibrates the NDT equipment to ensure its accuracy and reliability for proper inspection results.
  • Safety Compliance: They adhere to strict radiation safety regulations and protocols whenever using X-ray or other radiation-based NDT techniques.
  • Supporting the Team: They collaborate with other NDT technicians, potentially assisting them with tasks or providing technical expertise.
  • Maintaining Work Efficiency: The technician optimizes the NDT inspection workload to achieve the best balance between efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

In addition to these core duties, they may also be responsible for:

  • Performing process control on the inspection equipment within their designated area.
  • Conducting radiation safety checks, setting up safety barriers, and operating radiation survey meters (for X-ray based NDT).
  • Performing automated ultrasonic C-scan inspections of composite aircraft parts (if applicable).
  • Working any assigned shift to accommodate operational needs.
  • Completing other duties as instructed by their supervisor.

Experience Required for Your Success

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3 years of related technical experience
  • 1 year of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) experience determining product acceptability
  • NDT Level II Certification in two (2) disciplines, with four (4) years of experience in each (documentation required)
  • NDT Tech II: Level II NDT Certifications are required.
  • MUST HAVE AEROSPACE-related NDT experience & CERTIFICATES, HOURS LOGGED IN ON DOCUMENT
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading/interpretation and shop mathematics
  • Ability to read a scale and perform basic shop math
  • Ability to read and comprehend basic documents and instructions
  • Essential personal and communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate good housekeeping and safety practices
  • Ability to lift and transport objects up to 40 pounds
  • Proficiency in current computer-based software
