The Opportunity
Description
We're looking for a
Machine Operator, working in
Manufacturing industry in
Lakeland, Florida, United States.
Our client has immediate openings for a Machine Operator at our facility conveniently located in Lakeland, FL. Our current openings are on night shift from 7 pm to 7 am.
We offer medical benefits and salary is up to $17.57 per hour based on qualifications.
Responsibilities:
- Initiate corrective/preventive and continuous improvement opportunities through defined/document channels, and actively participate in developing, implementing, and verifying corrective/improvement actions.
- Ensure all quality control procedures are being followed to maintain process and product quality. This information is then entered into the computer.
- Ensure the machine is running a quality part by maintaining a stable process.
- Properly fill out and turn in all daily quality and production paperwork at the end of the shift.
- Monitor inspection equipment for proper operation, corrective action with containers when required.
- Make decisions based on skill, experience and knowledge to make repairs where no specifications or guidelines are available.
- Provide leadership to plant safety practices, emergency response procedures, and work procedures, by providing training and/or having key roles.
- Actively participate in the development of training plans for others and effectively delivers training, both in the classroom and on the job.
- Operate plant machinery.
- Perform routine checks on plant machinery and systems.
- Perform corrective maintenance on machines during production.
- Perform preventative maintenance on machines when scheduled.
- Perform rebuilding of part using vendor manuals, etc.
- Maintain maintenance logs, records, and other documentation.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Maintain clear effective communication with others in order to produce maximum results with minimum hassle.
- Adhere to Lock out/Tag out program.
- Communicate observed safety, production or quality problems to the Shift Supervisor.
- Observe all safe practice guidelines.
- Provide input for a cross-training program for all personnel to allow for smooth shift operation.
- Foster ideas for improvements in methods, cost reduction and quality.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor.
- Assist with downstream troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Perform all other duties as assigned, including assisting and learning job requirements of other job classifications as required.

Experience Required for Your Success
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience with manufacturing equipment and machine operating
- Mechanical aptitude is a must
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to wear safety glasses, cutting gloves, ear plugs, face shield and arm guards
- Ability to systematically troubleshoot and correct moderately complex problems
