The Opportunity
Description
We're looking for a
Destruction Technician(Shredder Operator), working in
IT (excluding Telecommunication) industry in
Dallas, 75234.
- Empty collected material from containers (cutting bags, dumping gaylords, etc.). Manual dumping of boxes from pallets.
- Sorting material by grade, separating and discarding identified contaminants
- As authorized, perform repairs to equipment as needed to ensure operationally safe when in production
- When authorized, perform daily, weekly and monthly equipment maintenance tasks as directed by the Plant Manager or Supervisor Load and unload vehicles as required and verify accuracy of deliveries and pickups.
- Maintain chain of custody and strict control over incoming and outgoing customer material
- Ability to identify and recommend changes to Plant Manager and/or Destruction Supervisor as needed
- Immediate notification to Plant Manager or Destruction Supervisor when equipment is not operational or there are safety and security concerns
- In accordance with 5S Workplace Program, communicate obstacles in workplace layout to Plant Manager or Destruction Supervisor
- Assist with training of new staff as needed
- Learn and understand compliance with all OSHA requirements, as well as safety and security procedures – including wearing required uniform and PPEs
- Perform other duties as assigned by Destruction Supervisor or Plant Manager

Experience Required for Your Success
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience in an Operations/Production/Manufacturing environment
- Ability to lift heavy material (70lbs to 100lbs) and push up to 300lbs wheeled containers
- Operation of PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) and other equipment
- Use of work gloves, safety glasses, and protective footwear meeting ASTM F2413-11 standards
- Work in a manufacturing-type environment, sometimes requiring dust masks and/or earplugs
- Forklift experience preferred
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and maintain professional relationships
