Description
We're looking for a
Lab Apprentice, working in
Oil and Gas industry in
Houston, Texas, 77073, United States.
- Responsible for Test Methods and applicable ASTM specifications ASTM E8, E18 and E23.
- Responsible for specimen extraction, preparation and measurement of specimens for tensile and Charpy impact testing, both pre and post testing.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the selection and use of precision measurement tools for quality assurance of test specimens of various geometries.
- Follow standard operating procedures and work instructions of various equipment and creates new ones as needed.
- Additional testing as applicable.

Experience Required for Your Success
- Associate degree is preferred. Equivalent education and/or experience will be considered
- Strong attention to detail and basic problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Basic Math skills is required.
- Experience in analytical methods and characterization techniques.
- Experience in metallurgical preparation for microstructural examinations.
Notched bar impact testing machine experience a plus.
- Experience with servo-hydraulically actuated and electro-mechanically actuated load frames, signal conditioning, data acquisition and control is a plus.
