The Opportunity


We're looking for a Cost Accountant, working in Admin/Clerical industry in Chicago, Illinois, United States.

  • Collect cost information and maintain an expenses database.
  • Construct data accumulation systems.
  • Determine fixed costs (e.g. salaries, rent and insurance).
  • Plan and record variable costs (e.g. purchases of raw material and operations costs).
  • Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies.
  • Prepare budgeting reports.
  • Analyze and report profit margins.
  • Prepare (monthly, quarterly and annual) cost forecasts.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing.
  • Identify and recommend cost-effective solutions.

Experience Required for Your Success

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred but not required
  • 1 year of relevant work experience
  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel (formulas, queries, etc., and macros experience is a plus)
  • Proficient in financial modeling concepts
  • Ability to work well within a team and form partnerships to complete projects
