The Opportunity
Description
We're looking for a Tax Specialist, working in Real Estate industry in Boston, Massachusetts, United States.- Monitors month-end close process and production of reconciliations related to balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Analyzes and identifies book-to-tax differences including wash sales, PFICs, bond bifurcation, and accretion/amortization of discount/premium.
- Documents tax and accounting policies and procedures.
- Assesses and evaluates reporting processes and systems to ensure they are efficient and effective.
- Works with internal technical resources to enhance existing processes and develop new systems as required.
- Performs computations of partnership taxable income, partnership book and tax allocations, tax estimates, Schedule K-1s and tax returns.

Experience Required for Your Success
- BA degree in accounting or finance (CPA, MST or working towards a CPA or MST preferred)
- 3-5 years financial services experience with exposure to the taxation of financial products and hedge/mutual funds or investment companies preferred
- Knowledge of fixed income securities, derivatives and complex financial instruments
- Proficient with software, including advanced MS Excel. Knowledge of Total Return accounting system (an SS&C Globe-Op platform) a plus
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to work with a diverse group of internal and external resources, in a challenging, fast-paced setting
