The Opportunity
Description
We're looking for a
Property Accountant, working in
Real Estate industry in
Boston, Massachusetts, United States.
- Assists
with general accounting month-end closing procedures.
- Reconciles bank accounts and prepares monthly work papers.
- Reviews
and analyzes general ledger accounts and profit-and-loss statements to prepare
required accruals
or reclassifications.
- Works
with Property Managers and Accounting team to review and finalize monthly and
quarterly reporting,
annual operating, and capital budgets.
- Works
regularly with transactional detail to resolve discrepancies, make corrections,
and ensure the quality,
accuracy, and timeliness of accounting information.
- Communicates with internal and external parties to discuss ad-hoc requests, reporting, and
routine questions.
- Supports
acquisitions team in closings, which includes reconciling closing prorations.
- Assists
in analyzing/reviewing lease/loan documents.
- Assists
in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual lender and investor reports
and presentations.

Experience Required for Your Success
- BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
- 2-3
years of property accounting experience; prior experience in Industrial or
Commercial Real Estate
preferred
- Experience
with accounting software, preferably Yardi, required
- Exposure
to job cost accounting, especially Yardi Construction Manager, a plus
- Advanced
or extremely proficient Microsoft Excel skills required
- Attention
to detail and the ability to prioritize
- Excellent
problem solving and general quantitative skills
- Strong
written and oral communication skills
- Team-oriented individual that functions well under strict deadlines
- Ability
to collaborate and effectively communicate with interdepartmental colleagues
